Stroke Awareness

Course Description:

This course is an invaluable learning event for all staff working with individuals who have had a stroke. The course looks at the cause of strokes, the effects on the person following a stroke and the support needs including person centred working.

Course Outline: 

  • Identify the different parts of the circulatory system
  • Explain how heart disease impacts the circulatory system
  • Identify the different types of stroke and their causes
  • Identify the signs and symptoms of a stroke
  • Explore both rehabilitation and long term needs of a person following a stroke
  • Explore care planning and person centred approaches to supporting the individual

Course Duration:

The trainer will carry out an on-going assessment, and practical observation

All delegates will receive a certificate of attendance

The course can be delivered at locations to suit the client or at one of our training venues (please note that should we deliver this course at your venue we will require a suitable room with tables available)
Maximum number of delegates per trainer is 15
