Learning Disability Good Practice

Course Description:
Building on from our other courses covering learning disability. This course is suitable for senior care and support staff managers and other individuals, who are responsible for guiding the support and services to individuals with a learning disability, looking at current good practice and practical aspects of care and support planning.

Course Outline: 

  • Recap on defining learning disability, look at prevalence of learning disability
  • Look at the effects of service design on individuals with a learning disability
  • Explore person centred approaches
  • Look at the assessment and support of individuals in relation to areas including, health needs, communication, behaviours which present a challenge
  • Look at the roles of others and joint working

Course Duration:

The trainer will carry out an on-going assessment

All delegates will receive a certificate of attendance

The course can be delivered at locations to suit the client or at one of our training venues
Maximum number of delegates per trainer is 15
