Domestic Abuse an Introduction

Course Description:
This course is designed to provide an initial understanding of domestic abuse. It will be of particular interest to individuals starting work with those who have experienced or are experiencing domestic abuse. The course is beneficial to all staff working in health and social care, to provide understanding of domestic abuse and the effects not just on the individual themselves but others too and introduction to joint working.

Course Outline: 

  • Understanding of what we meant by domestic abuse
  • The range and forms of abuse that may come under the domestic abuse umbrella
  • Understand that domestic abuse affects women, men and children
  • The effects of domestic abuse on children where abuse happens within the environment
  • Support for individuals experiencing domestic abuse
  • The legal framework around domestic abuse

Course Duration:

The trainer will carry out an on-going assessment

All delegates will receive a certificate of attendance

The course can be delivered at locations to suit the client or at one of our training venues
Maximum number of delegates per trainer is 15
